No specific guidance or restrictions on course
content are provided by the Board. The course must "contribute
to the advancement, extension or enhancement of the professional skills
and/or scientific knowledge of the licensee in practice of professional
engineering" and "foster the enhancement of general or specialized practice
and values of professional engineering, related sciences and engineering
ethics".
Accepted activities include (a) completing college or university courses,
(b) completing courses awarding CEU credits, (c) attending seminars and workshops
or successfully completion of online courses, (d) authoring, teaching,
or presenting courses, (e) publishing papers, articles, or books, (f)
receiving a U.S. patent, or (g) active participation on a
committee or holding office in a professional or technical
society.
Course Approval
The Board does not pre-approve specific courses. Each engineer must determine whether an activity
meets the Board's requirements.
Sponsor Approval
The Board does not pre-approve course sponsors.
Online Courses
