Course Requirements
Course Content
Any qualifying course or activity with a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the registrant’s field of practice in engineering.

For all engineers, at least 2 PDH must be earned in Ethics training during three renewal periods.

Accepted activities include (a) completing college or university courses, (b) completing courses awarding CEU credits, (c) attending seminars or in-house programs, (d) authoring, teaching, or presenting courses, presentations, or seminars,  (e) publishing papers, articles, or books, or (f) active participation in professional or technical societies.
Course Approval
The Board does not pre-approve specific courses.  Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board's requirements.
Sponsor Approval
The Board does not pre-approve course sponsors.
Online Courses
Online courses are accepted.

There is no limit on the number of hours that can be earned through online continuing education.

PDH Credit Requirement
15 PDH each year

Dual Licensees require 18 PDH each year where at least 1/3 of the total PDHs applies to each profession
Renewal Dates
December 31 every year for all engineers
PDH Carryover
A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period.  A maximum of 2 PDH may be carried forward for ethics into the next three year renewal period.
Record Keeping
The responsibility of maintaining records to be used to support credits claimed is the sole responsibility of the licensee.

The records must be maintained for three years.
Exemptions
Exemption from the PDH requirements include new licensees at the first renewal only, active military duty, disability, illness, or other extenuating circumstance, or 60 years of age with 20 years of aggregate practice.  Please refer to the state board's website for more specific information.
