Course Requirements
Course Content
Technical, ethical, or managerial content relevant to the practice of engineering.  A majority of the hours claimed must address health, safety and welfare issues and technical competency.

Accepted activities include (a) completing or auditing college or university courses, (b) completing courses awarding CEU credits, (c) attending seminars, classes, or technical presentations, (d) teaching courses, seminars, or technical presentations, or (e) publishing papers, articles, or books.  See board website for more specific information.
Course Approval
The Board does not pre-approve specific courses.  Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board's requirements.
Sponsor Approval
The Board does not pre-approve course sponsors.
Online Courses
Online courses are accepted.

There is no limit on the number of hours that can be earned through online continuing education.

PDH Credit Requirement
24 PDH biennially
Renewal Dates
Based on the date of initial licensure
PDH Carryover
A maximum of 12 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
Record Keeping
The responsibility of maintaining records to be used to support credits claimed is the responsibility of the registrant.

The records must be maintained for a period of four (4) years.
Exemptions
Exemption from the PDH requirements include active military duty, overseas assignments, inactive status, or retired status.  Please refer to the state board's website for specific requirements and time periods allowed.
