Course Requirements
Course Content
The course must have a "clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve, or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee's field of practice". 

At least 1 PDH must be earned in Professional Ethics.

Accepted activities include (a) completing college or university courses, (b) completing courses awarding CEU credits, (c) attending seminars, classes, or technical presentations, (d) teaching courses, seminars, or technical presentations, (e) publishing papers, articles, or books, (f) receiving a U.S. patent, (g) active participation in professional or technical societies (limited to 5 PDHs) or (h)self-directed study (limited to 5 PDHs).  See board website for more specific information.
Course Approval
The Board does not pre-approve specific courses.  Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board's requirements.
Sponsor Approval
The Board does not pre-approve course sponsors.
Online Courses
Online courses are accepted.

There is no limit on the number of hours that can be earned through online continuing education.

PDH Credit Requirement
15 PDH annually
Renewal Dates
March 31, June 30, September 30 or December 31 based on the initial date of licensure
PDH Carryover
A maximum of 15 PDH may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
Record Keeping
The responsibility of maintaining records to be used to support credits claimed is the responsibility of the registrant.

The records must be maintained for a period of three (3) years.
Exemptions
Exemption from the PDH requirements include new licensee by way of examination for first renewal period, active military duty, inactive status, or disability, illness or other extenuation circumstance. Please refer to the state board's website for specific requirements and time periods allowed.
