Course Requirements
Course Content
Technical, ethical, or managerial content relevant to the practice of engineering.

Accepted activities include (a) completing college or university courses, (b) completing courses awarding CEU credits, (c) attending seminars, classes, or technical presentations, (d) teaching courses, seminars, or technical presentations, (e) publishing papers, articles, or books, (f) receiving a U.S. patent, (g) active participation in professional or technical societies (limited to 2 PDHs) or (h)self-directed study or research(limited to 5 PDHs).  See board website for more specific information.
Course Approval
The Board does not pre-approve specific courses.  Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the Board's requirements.
Sponsor Approval
The Board does not pre-approve course sponsors.
Online Courses
Online courses are accepted.

There is no limit on the number of hours that can be earned through online continuing education.

PDH Credit Requirement
30 CPC (PDH) biennially
Renewal Dates
December 31 based on the initial year of licensure
PDH Carryover
A maximum of 15 CPC (PDH) may be carried forward into the next renewal period.
Record Keeping
The responsibility of maintaining records to be used to support credits claimed is the responsibility of the registrant.

The records must be maintained for a period of three (3) renewal periods.
Exemptions
Exemption from the PDH requirements include new registrant for first renewal period, active military duty, retired status, or disability, illness or other extenuation circumstance. Please refer to the state board's website for specific requirements and time periods allowed.
